Jean-Claude CHERTIER |
In 1949 Jean-Claude Chertier began to devote his time to his Art, and for the first time in 1950, his works are presented to the public. Audiovisual is not to be missed in his work insofar as the great Masters were his teachers. The three words suggested in Jean-Claude Chertier's work are "Sincerity", "Sensitivity", "Reality".
He likes better pale blue, but this colour does not direct his work and he feels himself near to André Parinaud (in his book "Barbizon").
In the political sphere, he likes Alain Poher, president of Senate.
The last great exposition he likes to remember is "Les Impressionnistes de Barbizon" (Grand Palais, Paris, 1994).
Above all, Jean-Claude advises all the young artists, first to correctly learn traditional Art and then, after a strong knowledge, to think about a personal style.- Priority work to see :
"Le décharné de Bar Le Duc" Reproduction of the statuary from Ligier Richier. Work created with knife, ended with brush.
74.8" x 35.4" (190x90 cm) (1961) (at artists's home).
