Rapture
(Poem by Wendy Howe
)
see also the french version
I wrap the shadow
of your touch around my neck
as if it were a ribbon cut
from a thousand miles
of sea-washed silk.
Last night
our voices clasped
the distance with love
rounding into a question --
of "how much?"
We answered through silence
and felt its echo
hook into place
at the back of time
where moonlight breathes
on the bare skin
of eternity.
