REMEMBRANCE
(Poem by Wendy Howe
)
see also the french version
Summer comes again
massaging my skin
with his soft tan,
and I think of you;
of how it felt
when we were together
arching our backs
against a white sail of cloud.
We stood on the cliff
balanced ageless
by heights of love and stone.
You whispered lines of verse
and I drew your breath around me
like a scarf
strewn with flower petals
and yearning
spun fine
as Chinese silk.
