IMAGE OF THE MONTH (JUNE 2002)

EVENING SCULPTURE
(Poem by Wendy Howe)
see also the french version

Your hair is pinned up,
eyes lowered, pulling in
the garden's moonlight
and shadows of us.

Memory shapes a lover's song
out of your silence.

Head and neck
dip into the past
stilling time, like a pale swan
whose composure
smoothes the water
and casts her reflection
in silver glass.
