About Le Château de Pfalz

...I have written a new poem based on the drawing which depicts the beautiful and romantic castle, Le chateau de Pfalz.

The speaker in the poem is a spirit , some glamorous heiress who passed away while standing on the boat's edge, toasting the beauty of the Rhine, Composer, Richard Wagner and its regal castle, Le chateau de Pfalz.

She relates how gloriously the building stands in the middle of the river while sheltering several of its strange ghosts who have contributed to its romantic and mysterious ambiance. Through her voice, we see how a dwelling develops a personality of its own, a collective soul of place and time that perpetuates intrigue and fascination throughout the centuries.
