About Demoiselle

...I have also written a new poem, "Demoiselle", based on your lovely design, My dear Marie-France, called "Quatre Filles et un Jean". I love this concept of garments defining the person's attitude as well as her shape.

When viewing this beautiful image, the idea of the maturing young lady, the "demoiselle", sprung to mind. Coming of age is a complex process. It has different moods, traits and faces. I tried to capture that theme in this poem, four facets of a girl within one blossoming woman. And like the Asian bird , the "Demoiselle crane", her silhouette and form are gracefully fluid. Her movements are always changing with growth and attained poise; thus, "she retains her own aquatic bloom".
