About In January

When viewing the "The Peaceful Nativity", I thought of The New year in a spiritual way. This transition from the old year to another one filled with hope and personal growth, induced me to think of a beautiful messenger, an angel who brings this promise forth. Her presence is draped in a shawl that is representative of a fertile and organic earth. Her hair is bound with the sweetness of fruit and in her arms, she carries the precious source of new life, an infant who symbolizes the forth coming year and the return of Spring. Though seen as a figure in a dream, her influence transcends sleep and allows the world and the speaker ,in this poem, to awaken with the blessing of divine radiance and gratitude.
